“You got this… Stick with it, Do the Hard Work!” I’m hoping from this lesson I’m learning, I can inspire you on your journey through life – wherever it may take you.

I want to get a little vulnerable and share something with you I don’t really want to admit. I’m sharing this because I think a lot of us go through it, whether we care to admit it or not. And that is, sometimes I have a little problem with a lack of willpower coupled with a lack of self-confidence.

When it comes to a website project, I get to a certain point where I choke up, every time. Just like anyone else with a website (and all of my clients go through this), when it comes time to writing the content, it’s one of those things where you just have to sit down and commit. In my case, if you know me and you know me well, you know that in the last two years I have changed my name and my brand many times. I’m an idea guy, what can I say?

Another example, last week I totally choked, and kind of jumped the gun. Because only a couple people were watching my broadcast, I thought, “well nobody wants to watch this, nobody cares.” I was just ready to give up and quit. That’s my lack of confidence. On each of our individual journeys through life, we all have things that are going to be difficult.

I’m reminded of a few things that came up this week. A theme that kept repeating, over and over again – about willpower, doing the hard work, having confidence, and “sticking with it.”

The first was a phone call with my friend Danny. He basically kicked me in the ass and said if I didn’t do this now I was gonna piss away this opportunity – he was referring to this respite I’m taking right now staying temporarily at my parents.

It’s one of those times when I was like, “Oh, I’m 40 years old, and I’m living with my parents.” Blah, blah, blah. Cut the crap, Jason.

The fact is, and Danny was absolutely right, this is a fantastic opportunity for me to slow down, take a deep breath, get it right, and move forward on my journey.

The next synchronicity that popped up was while watching a YouTube channel I subscribe to. Basically, the guy said: when it comes to something you want in life that is going to move you toward your abundance, it’s only going to come to fruition when you do the hard work.

So you’re seeing a pattern here, right?

I’m also reminded of a quote from the Rhythm Nation era when Janet Jackson said:

“Dreams do come true, but you can’t just sit there and wait for them to happen, you have to make them happen.” – Janet Jackson

She’s absolutely right, and she knows this better than anybody else.

After my chat with my friend Danny, I kind of had to stick my tail between my legs, lick my wounds for a second, and just deal with it. So, I’ve been moving forward – sitting down, doing the hard work, and committing to following through. And telling myself, over and over again, “Jason, you’ve got this!”

Meditation has been helping too. With meditation, you don’t need to be a “spiritual person” – but gosh, with everything going on in the world, it sure is a little something positive. Surprisingly, even the meditations I did this week were reinforcing the same theme.

It’s like the universe was saying, “Jason this is your lesson this week, pay attention!”

So, the week started out, “Woe is me, my life sucks. Blah, blah, blah…” I went through all that crap. But, at some point, I finally heeded the lesson and said to myself, “I’m going to do this, come hell or high water.” These dreams, the goals I want to accomplish, I realized they are not going to happen unless I make them happen myself.

I really wanted to share this lesson with you in the hope it might inspire you – helping you move forward on your journey.

Because I believe, you absolutely can have the law of attraction and manifest your dreams. But, they are not going to happen if you don’t get off your rump and do the hard work. No one’s going make your dreams come true for you, except you.

You just have to have the willpower to say it, get it done, get it out of your head, and get it down on paper. Whatever it takes. Nobody can tell your story better than you can. So you just have to find the confidence to make it happen.

You’ve also got to do it right, there are no shortcuts in hard work. You just have to take it step-by-step. And, as I’m learning, take in bite-sized chunks, one step at a time.

One last thing, no matter what anybody says – especially if they tell you, “you can’t,” you probably can. You can do anything you set your heart AND mind to. It just takes a little faith in yourself, your unique talents and gifts. So, go out there and pursue your purpose with fervor – you really do have nothing to lose!
